Winning option:guilty of all 25 counts of driving under the influence with a minor and child endangerment A southern New Jersey school bus driver who admitted driving drunk with 25 students on board has been sentenced to three years in state prison.

Carole Crockett, 48, pleaded guilty last October to Driving Under the Influence and Endangering the Welfare of a Child. She was sentenced on Friday.

On November 8, 2011, Crockett was intoxicated while driving 25 students to their homes from Westampton Middle School at the end of the school day.

Police say the students riding the bus alerted their parents through phone calls and text messages that their driver was swerving and falling asleep behind the wheel. The students also claimed Crockett almost struck a parked car as well as a jogger and that she vomited into her handbag.

Background

Authorities arrested a New Jersey bus driver after children on a school bus called their parents to report the woman swerving and falling asleep behind the wheel.

Carole Crockett, 46, faces 25 counts of driving under the influence with a minor and child endangerment, the Courier-Post of Cherry Hill reported.

Students reportedly called their parents complaining of Crockett's driving. The parents then called Westampton Middle School, which alerted police.

Officers were dispatched to the area and found Crockett at Holly Hills School trying to pick up more students. She was arrested on the spot.

The newspaper reported Crockett's breath test showed she had a blood-alcohol level of .25 percent. The state's legal limit is .08.

Bail was set for Crockett at $10,000 for the disorderly conduct offense, according to the newspaper. Superior Court Judge Michael Haas set bail on the endangering charges at $75,000

Crockett was released after posting bail. Her next court date is Nov. 17.
