Background

A pen-and-ink drawing by the Dutch master artist Rembrandt was stolen August 13th from the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Marina Del Rey (Los Angeles area) in what sheriff's deputies called a well-planned theft.

The artwork known as "The Judgment," was done in quill pen and ink, is about 10 inches by 6 inches, and is dated circa 1655. It is valued at approximately $250,000.

Detectives are reviewing the hotel security video.
