A major character from "The Simpsons" will be killed off to mark the show's 25th year. The animated series, which launched in 1989, began its 25th season on Sunday, and producers have teased fans by revealing a main character will meet a tragic end this season. The writers have refused to identify which character will be axed, but executive producer Al Jean told Canada's The Sun News, "I'll give you a clue that the actor playing the character won an Emmy for playing that character, but I won't say who it is." It's not much of a hint considering every major cast member has won an Emmy for their work on "The Simpsons."
Guest stars appearing in the new season include Zach Galifianakis, Elisabeth Moss and Kristen Wiig, and producers also have a treat in store for viewers -- the finale will be a cross-over with "Futurama."
