Background
The big news this year is Danica Patrick, the first woman to win pole position at the Daytona 500. Starting the race along side previous winner Jeff Gordon (1997) she be trying for her most important win of her career in NASCAR racing. Following yesterday's last lap crash, there'll be a lot of interest in today's race.
Only 3 pole sitters have won since 1987, so a win by Patrick or Gordon is still unlikely. The next six starters have also been provided with an option, as well as one for all other drivers. Question should suspend about an hour after the start of the race.
