DALLAS — Police say a man is under arrest, charged with fatally shooting his own son.
Police were called to a duplex just before midnight Saturday in the 5400 block of Winton Street, near Mockingbird Lane and North Central Expressway.
Investigators said James Phillips, 20, of Sapulpa, Oklahoma, was found dead at the residence, the victim of a shotgun blast to the stomach.
His father, Sanders Phillips, told police that a disturbance involving a knife preceded the gunfire.
The elder Phillips, 50, was arrested and charged with murder.
