SHEBOYGAN, Wis. -- Organizers turned in petitions Tuesday morning to force a recall of Sheboygan Mayor Bob Ryan.
They submitted 514 pages with 4,723 signatures which need to be verified.
"We have in hand well over 4,500 signatures, and we only need 4,120-some to initiate it," recall organizer Kevin MatiChek said Monday.
The city clerk will have up 31 days to verify them, before determining what's next.
"Only time can tell what is going to happen," MatiChek aid.
The deadline to turn in the recall petitions was 5 p.m. Tuesday.
Ryan has refused to resign following a drunken weekend in Elkhart Lake this summer.
When 12 News asked the mayor for a comment Tuesday, he said he plans to wait until the signatures are verified before he make a statement.
