Background

A greater than human artificial intelligence is defined for the purposes of this questions as a machine that can answer any question or perform any intellectual task as well as or better than any individual human. The machine must provide equal or better accuracy, and be faster, but need not out perform cooperative groups of humans or human-machine approaches.

   UnknownOne2013 predicted By 2030

We now have NPUs and we can already make supercomputers. We are also seeing the rise of new AI services. This leads me to believe we will see a public demonstration by IBM or the like from an R&D lab sometime around 2030. Perhaps it will happen more like 2035 but I don't think we will have to wait until 2040.
