Knew The News is completely community driven. There is no payed staff, all efforts are volontairy contributions by the individual members.

Category Editors and Super Users

The "Category Editor" badge is awarded to members which are active on the site and have proven their understanding of the game. The following members have additional privileges on the site, and in turn take more responsibilities by taking care of one or more specific categories.

Category editors will take care of their associated categories as they will keep an eye on submitted markets and will settle them, additionally they will publish markets themselves regularly. Feel free to contact them if you need assistance or have any questions about the site.

In addition to the Category Editors, any member can become Super User. A member which reaches a top 3 position on the monthly Community leaderboard will be invited to become Super User. In case a super user does not achieve any points throughout a whole month, he will lose his status. A Super User is indicated with a badge.

Category Editors and Super Users differ from normal players in these aspects:

  • Any prediction is made publically
  • Members may send messages even when not friended
  • May send messages to members even when not friended
  • May start discussion threads in restricted forums
  • Able to suspend and unsuspend markets
  • Able to edit markets

In addition, Category Editors differ in these aspects:

  • No rewards for market creation or daily login
  • Receive email notices on flags and settlement request in specific categories
  • Able to settle and void markets
