Background

This has been one of the main news stories for the past few weeks in the U. S. Besides all of the others who've been accused of sexually related misdeeds, it seems that so much of the attention has been centered on the race to fill the vacant seat from Alabama. Trump supported the opponent, but Moore won anyway. Many national Republicans have stepped away from Moore rather than support a far right candidate accused of various sexual actions including with a 14 year old girl. The Democrat has been getting a lot of support now as an alternative, but today Trump came out with support for Moore without saying so. In some polls, the Democratic candidate, Doug Jones, has pulled ahead. And there's also some talk by some Republicans of a write-in candidate to replace Moore, which would probably only help the Democrat. win the December 12th election.
