In the in-depth interview with Portugal's 'RTP' network during which he accused FIFA of irregularities in the Del Bosque vote, José Mourinho made it clear that he "has no agreement with Real Madrid to leave". He added, "Nothing's been signed. That's nonsense."

'The Special One' recalled Real Madrid's victories at the Camp Nou and in the league, and said that "Barça had doubts and fears that it didn't have two years ago."

The Real manager once again remarked, "Being Portuguese has nothing to do with what I have achieved. It's difficult to be Portuguese here in Spain. You can be the best coach in the world at a certain time, but that doesn't make your career. I've had a long career and I've accumulated success."

The Premier League has apologised to Chelsea after publishing a story on its website saying Jose Mourinho had returned as manager of the Blues.

The story appeared on Sunday with Monday's date and was later removed.

"It was a publishing error. We took it down as soon as we were notified of it. We've apologised to Chelsea," said a Premier League spokesman.

He added that the Premier League had no prior knowledge of any movement or any announcement regarding Mourinho.

The story was headlined: "Portuguese coach is back at Stamford Bridge after signing a xx-year contract."

It went on: "Jose Mourinho returns for second stint as Chelsea manager. Portuguese signs x-year-deal."

Chelsea have made no comment.

Jose Mourinho will leave Real Madrid at the end of the season, the nine-time European champion's president Florentino Perez announced at a news conference on Monday.

By his own admission Mourinho, who won one league championship and a Copa del Rey with Real after taking charge in 2010, has endured his "worst season" in management.

"The club and manager agree that the timing is right to bring the relationship to an end," said Perez.

The Real president added that the decision to part ways was a "mutual agreement" so paving the way for Mourinho to make a return to England's Premier League.

"I know in England I am loved," said the Portuguese last month. "I know I am loved by some clubs, especially one."

The 50-year-old is rumored to be on his way back to former club Chelsea, where he won two Premier League titles and one FA Cup between 2004 and 2007.

Talks between parties representing José Mourinho and Chelsea over his potential return remain ongoing, with no agreement as yet struck despite the Portuguese's very public courting of his former club in the aftermath of Real Madrid's Champions League exit on Tuesday night.

Mourinho, whose trophy-laden if turbulent spell of a little over three seasons in London ended abruptly in the autumn of 2007, suggested he expects to leave the Bernabéu at the end of the current campaign and move to a club "where people love me".
