WOW, what a surprise. Tropical Storm Alberto formed off the coast of South Carolina today. Winds of 45 mph. So there'1.

the "depressions" throw me. You note that for last year they only counted 1. But I guess we go by which ever they count. There are so many that when I mark my hurricane map I don't pay any attention until they reach Tropical Storm status (winds of 39 mph). The afternoon thunder storms frequently have winds in the 30-35 mph range. Just a Floridians point of view. I personally want NO hurricanes, and a real depression is worse - it sits there for days. A hurricane zooms by.
